Russian Tea Cakes!

Every year my mom makes these so I’m finally sharing the secret recipe..

What’s Christmas without melt-in-your-mouth cookies?

*Prep time is about an hour and you want to cook them for an hour and 15 mins

You will need:

1 cup butter or margarine, softened

  1/2 cup powdered sugar , 1 teaspoon vanilla

2 and 1/4 cups Gold Medal all-purpose flour

3/4 cup finely chopped nuts

1/4 teaspoon salt

Powdered sugar

Your Russian Tea Cake Recipe in about to take place! ~
1. Heat your over to 400* F (you can also  use 350* and cook for a few minutes less if you feel more comfortable)
2. Mix butter, 1/2 cup powdered sugar and vanilla in a large bowl. 
3. Stir in the flour,  nuts and salt until you can hold the dough together (it will be kind of crumbly)
Now here is the fun part…. 🙂
Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place about 1 inch apart on un-greased cookie sheet.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until set but not brown. Remove from cookie sheet. Cool slightly on wire rack.
Roll warm cookies in powdered sugar; cool on wire rack. Roll in powdered sugar again

*SPECIAL TIP*

(these cookies are extra yummy if you add macadamia nuts!)
